About
Jonathan Moore grew up documenting his life in Norfolk with drawing. His parents were keen collectors of paintings by local artists and enjoyed their own creative practices, so art formed part of the fabric of his childhood.
Jonathan went to art school in Winchester while working part-time in an art gallery and for an exhibition construction company. After completing his BA in Fine Art (painting), he returned to Norfolk and began selling his paintings of the Norfolk Broads. He then moved to London, working as a museum assistant while he completed an MA in museum studies through Leicester University.
In 2016, he decided to postpone a Phd, which explored education in museums and art galleries, at Goldsmiths and move home to Norfolk to enjoy a slower pace of life and focus more on painting. He has never looked back and has found it a joy to start a family and live closer to his values. He loves being near to the North Norfolk coast and its people, which are huge inspirations for his painting. He quickly gained traction and popularity, and was soon selling seascape paintings and taking commissions for portraits.
Fast forward to today: you’ll most likely find him in his studio at his home in Melton Constable, Norfolk, working on paintings for both new and existing clients. You’ll be able to score a good cup of coffee if you get in touch to stop by and say hi.
